COBRA LAUNCHES ENHANCED STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY RANGE
WITH WEB MONITORING SERVICE
Revised line-up includes web upgrade offering Vehicle
Location on Demand and Geofence Protection
Cobra is launching a revised CobraTrak stolen vehicle recovery
product range to coincide with its presence at this year's CV Show
at the NEC in Birmingham from 12th to 14th
April. With more than 300,000 vehicles stolen in the UK every year,
even the largest HGV and its valuable cargo can go missing without
trace in a matter of minutes.
CobraTrak uses the latest GPS/GPRS/GSM technology to locate a
vehicle to within 10 metres. Cobra's network of 24 hour monitoring
centres across 39 European countries, Russia and South Africa
commence live tracking when a theft is reported and liaise with
police authorities in local language to recover the vehicle quickly
and undamaged.
Both of Cobra's tracking products CobraTrak
Plus and CobraTrak 5 can be upgraded with
a brand new web monitoring service for a small additional fixed
annual fee, offering the following valuable benefits to commercial
vehicle operators:-
Web Monitoring including:
Real time vehicle location: via a simple
password protected web application. This user friendly web
application gives vehicle operators the ability to obtain a
pinpoint location for their vehicles on demand. This is available
for multiple vehicles, making it ideal for commercial vehicle fleet
operators.
Geofence: this facility allows operators
to self set a geofence zone (effectively a "safe" zone) around
vehicles and receive immediate alerts via SMS/email/voice alert
should a vehicle enter or leave the pre-set area.
Self-set Transport Mode: for use when
travelling for instance by ferry, or Garage Mode
when the vehicle is being serviced. Both prevent false alerts from
being generated.
There are two CobraTrak stolen vehicle recovery systems, both
available with the above web monitoring upgrade.
CobraTrak Plus: - The new CobraTrak Plus system
delivers GPS stolen vehicle tracking with pan European coverage,
plus the added security of generating the following alerts:-
Tow-away alert: Triggered when motion is
detected with the ignition switched off
Tamper alert: Activated when the vehicle
battery is disconnected or discharged, or when the system wiring is
cut
GSM jamming alert: Triggered when an attempt to
jam the GSM signal is made
CobraTrak 5: The latest version of CobraTrak 5,
Cobra's flagship Thatcham Category 5 accredited product, the
highest independent security rating available for a stolen
vehicle recovery device, incorporates all the benefits of
CobraTrak Plus, with the added benefit GPS and GSM jamming
detection, plus the peace of mind offered by:-
Automatic Driver Recognition via Driver Card:
Drivers are issued with a unique pocket-sized Driver Card and on
leaving the vehicle the system automatically arms itself. If the
vehicle is moved without the Driver Card present, Cobra's Secure
Operating Centre is alerted instantly to a potential theft, even if
the vehicle is taken using the vehicle's own key.
Remote Ignition Lock: Enabling the Police to
authorise Cobra to send an alert to the vehicle and prevent the
engine being restarted once it comes to a standstill. This
significantly increases the chance of both the vehicle and its
contents being recovered undamaged, and can help avoid high speed
police pursuit of suspect vehicles.
Aside from the obvious financial implications of losing a
vehicle, commercial vehicle theft can damage confidence in an
operator's ability to deliver loads securely and on time, which
could result in the loss of further contracts and potentially
destroy a business overnight.
Through its CobraTrak and NavTrak brands, Cobra is the European
market leader for stolen vehicle tracking and location based
services. The company supplies stolen vehicle tracking and recovery
services at a pan-European level to Audi, Bentley, Ferrari,
Infiniti, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche,
Renault, and Tesla.
