GLOBAL LIVE CYCLE SCANNER READY TO RETRO-FIT ON HGVS TO HELP
PROMOTE SAFETY FOR CYCLISTS
• HGV fleets offered option to test Cycle Scanner on London
based HGVs
• Global Live Cycle Scanner can be retro fitted to a range of
HGVs
• The complete system costs just £899 per vehicle, excluding
installation
Cobra UK has responded to claims that gadgets fitted to trucks
to help prevent cyclist accidents rarely get past the testing stage
by highlighting its Global Live Cycle Scanner is now available to
retro fit on a range of HGVs.
The experts in vehicle security and surveillance are now looking
for further HGV fleets to test the system in the London area as it
looks to add further functionality to its Cycle Scanner
product.
Cycle Scanner was specifically developed in response to the
growing issue of cyclist safety, particularly in the London area,
and uses the latest GPS and live video CCTV technology.
The system costs just £899 per vehicle including the scanner,
six sensors, live mobile CCTV system, camera and web portal.
"We identified the cyclist safety issue very early on and
developed the system in just a matter of months," said Andrew
Smith, managing director of Cobra UK, parent company to Global
Live.
"It allows HGV operators to retro fit their vehicles with a
reliable system that gives drivers a visual and audible alert to
help avoid accidents, bringing the truck of the future to the
streets of today" he added.
Cycle Scanner features a scanner and six sensors along the
nearside of a vehicle to detect a cyclist, and a live video camera
to see exactly what is happening around the vehicle. If a cyclist
enters the nearside of the vehicle, the Global Live Cycle Scanner
warns both the driver in the cab and the operator back at base with
automatic alerts in order to prevent any potential accidents.
The Cycle Scanner also provides live images and a recording of
every journey, providing instantly available evidence in the event
of an incident along with GPS location to show the vehicle journey
and location.
