Cobra, a leader in the provision of security and safety
solutions for the automotive industry, has announced its
participation at Thatcham's Triple Focus Event on 15 June 2011.
Thatcham, the UK's pre-eminent independent vehicle security testing
body, is hosting its annual Triple Focus Event which offers anyone
with a professional interest in motor insurance, vehicle security
or vehicle repair an opportunity to network with industry experts
and opinion leaders.
The ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) Vehicle Crime
Intelligence Service (AVCIS), the umbrella organisation working
with 43 police forces across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to
combat vehicle enabled crime, will be holding its National Vehicle
Crime Forum at Thatcham's Triple Focus Event. This year Cobra is
sponsoring the AVCIS National Vehicle Crime Forum, the UK's largest
law enforcement led autocrime gathering of the year.
Cobra is a key business partner to AVCIS, providing the
technology behind The AVCIS Capture Car Programme; supplying and
fitting vehicle monitoring and surveillance systems to a fleet of
vehicles available for police forces to rent directly from
AVCIS. Cobra's Managing Director, Andrew Smith also sits on
the AVCIS board.
Andrew Smith, Managing Director of Cobra UK, says "It is very
important for us to support Thatcham and AVCIS at the Triple Focus
Event as both are long standing and major partners of Cobra. The
event is key for the vehicle security and insurance industries and
as a major player in these sectors it is paramount that Cobra has a
presence."
DCI Mark Hooper, Head of AVCIS, says "Cobra's industry leading
expertise in delivering the technology behind our Capture Car
Programme is first class. We are thrilled to have the support of
Cobra at our National Vehicle Crime Forum."
Cobra will be exhibiting on the first day of Thatcham's Triple
Focus Event, showcasing a range of telematics solutions in addition
to security alarms and tracking products, all of which are Thatcham
accredited, widely known as the most significant and sought-after
accreditation in the industry.
Dean Lander at Thatcham, says "Cobra and Thatcham have enjoyed a
long partnership and once again we appreciate the company's support
at our Triple Focus Event. This year we are hosting a number of
events under one roof with our British Insurance Vehicle Security
Awards and AVCIS' National Vehicle Crime Forum both taking place on
the 15 June."
Products showcased will include Cobra's recently upgraded
CobraTrak Plus and CobraTrak 5 GPS stolen vehicle tracking
solutions with new generation technology plus Web Monitoring. Web
Monitoring offers a host of benefits including allowing operators
to self set a geofence zone (effectively a "safe" zone) around
vehicles and receive immediate alerts via SMS/email/voice alert
should a vehicle enter or leave the pre-set area.
Cobra already provides a range of telematics solutions to
fleets, vehicle manufacturers, logistics providers and insurance
companies, including a telematics solution for the Coverbox pay as
you drive insurance policy, while the Co-Operative is using it to
power its Smartbox Young Driver Insurance.
