Cobra, a leader in the provision of security, safety and
telematics solutions for the automotive, commercial vehicle and
passenger transport industries is to premier its Global Live CCTV
monitoring security system at the Coach and Bus Live exhibition
2011 at the NEC on 5-6 October.
This ground breaking new system allows coach and bus operators
to protect their vehicles, passengers and drivers whilst on the
move, whilst enabling them to meet their Duty of Care
obligations.
Interior cameras monitor the driver and passenger areas 24/7,
audibly and visually, to protect employees, passengers and assets
from a wide range of high risk or problem situations. Forward
facing cameras can also be set up to monitor driving standards or
to be used as evidence in the event of an accident caused by a
driver or third party.
Highly trained personnel at the Cobra Secure Operating Centre
(SOC) can monitor footage in real time and download images and data
to keep an eye on vehicles both en route and when parked. GPS
tracking enables the pinpoint location of the vehicle at any time.
A live demonstration of the system will be available on the Cobra
stand K67.
Cobra sees the system affording extra security to VIPs in
transit, as well as offering drivers and passengers additional
peace of mind and protecting assets from vandalism on late night
bus routes. As the CCTV footage is admissible as evidence in court
it will also help protect operators and their assets from
fraudulent claims against the business such as staged accidents or
hijackings.
Global Live will also help monitor and protect high profile
musicians, their trucks, buses and equipment when they are on
tour.
"Should a vehicle equipped with Global Live technology be
subject to attack, CCTV streaming shows SOC Staff what is happening
in real time and they can react accordingly," said Andrew Smith,
Managing Director, Cobra UK.
"This unique live CCTV monitoring system enhances our commitment
to improve the safety and security of drivers and their passengers,
and could help bus operators negotiate insurance discounts as they
lower the risk of their vehicles. Global Live is equally suitable
for monitoring and protecting of remote or unmanned sites, such as
storage depots."
Cobra's Global Live system is a bespoke solution. The
number and position of cameras can be tailored to the needs of
individual customers and can be further personalised with the
enhancement of personal attack buttons and enhanced infra red
cameras.
