AVCIS has announced a partnership with Cobra UK, the European market leader for stolen vehicle tracking, as part of a joint initiative to combat vehicle-enabled crime, reduce police response times and improve recovery rates. Car theft today is a far cry from a decade ago and criminals are resourceful in finding new ways of stealing cars.
Improvements in alarm and immobiliser security are forcing criminals to steal vehicle keys as the preferred method of overcoming anti-theft devices. Head of AVCIS, Paul Lambotte, said: "A significant percentage of stolen cars, not recovered within 72 hours, are taken out of the UK. Sophisticated vehicle locating and recovery systems are now more important than ever before. Cars that are fitted with devices, such as CobraTrak, have a significantly increased chance of being recovered, compared to unprotected vehicles. AVCIS supports vehicle locating technology, and we are pleased to include Cobra as one of our partners."
Cobra is unique in offering pinpoint GPS tracking across 36 European countries and Russia, with police liaison undertaken in local language to avoid misunderstandings. This seamless international infrastructure means that Cobra UK is well placed to assist AVCIS in the fight against vehicle-enabled crime.
