- 17% of all road accidents in the UK
involve reversing
- Nearly 25% of all deaths involving
vehicles at work in the UK occur as a result of a reversing
manoeuvre
- One third of all reported freight
transport collisions occur when a vehicle is
reversing
Recent statistics show reversing manoeuvres to be a major cause
of motoring accidents in the UK. This news comes at a time when
Cobra UK is launching a fresh new product to the automotive
industry. The new Park Master A0300 parking sensor range is Cobra's
latest innovation, offering OE production line quality and finish
with the added benefit of providing a totally flush mount.
Cobra's new A0358 4 Eye Rear, A0359 2 Eye Rear*, and the A0356 4
Eye Front* parking sensors provide a flush finish and are suitable
for most cars, motorhomes and commercial vehicles.
Statistics from the Association of British Insurers (ABI)
suggest that around 17% of all road accidents
involve reversing. Data from the Health and Safety Executive shows
that nearly 25% of all deaths involving vehicles
at work in the UK occur as a result of some form of reversing
manoeuvre. Insurance claims research from the University of
Huddersfield also supports this evidence, revealing that as many as
one third of all reported freight transport
collisions occur when a vehicle is reversing.
"Commercial vehicle drivers are constantly under pressure to
reverse in difficult operating conditions, and Cobra's Park Master
range has been expertly designed to protect both drivers and
pedestrians, while also safeguarding vehicles from costly damage
and vehicle down time," says Andrew Smith, Managing Director, Cobra
UK.
"The new Cobra Park Master range is well placed to take
advantage of this growing demand to make vehicles and their drivers
safer, while also helping commercial vehicle fleet operators meet
their Duty of Care obligations, and protect their vehicle and
future insurance premiums."
Cobra's new flush mounted parking sensor range can be painted to
match the colour of the vehicle, giving a factory style finish, and
can be fitted to the front and/or rear bumpers. While additional
setting adjustments can be made to accommodate a towbar or rear
mounted spare wheel, the system can also be used in conjunction
with Cobra's rear view cameras and mirrors, providing acoustic
distance signals in addition to the visual aid.
Cobra has been supplying parking sensors globally for production
line fit to a raft of vehicle manufacturers for many years. The
company also develops bespoke solutions such as sensors
specifically designed to fit the unusual shape bumper of the
recently launched Volkswagen Amarok Highline lifestyle pickup. The
vehicle comes complete with a Park Master (non-flush mount) parking
system as standard.
Like all Cobra products the Park Master range boasts a
comprehensive warranty and a technical support service, to help
dealers achieve the best quality fit for their customers.
